The AI hurricane is disrupting...
23 October 2024
Recently, we had the opportunity to travel to Houston with our clients for a discovery day at HPE’s Customer Innovation Center (CIC). The goal of this visit was to explore the latest advancements from key manufacturers of strategic components such as Nvidia, Intel, and AMD*, three leaders in the industry.
A DEEP DIVE INTO THE HEART OF HPE’S RESEARCH CENTER
This visit allowed us all to attend presentations highlighting the next development steps for HPE, particularly concerning the integration of new GPU*/CPU and fused memory technologies.
The laboratory tour also gave us the opportunity to closely examine the Cray** product line and the entire HPE HPC** series, both designed to meet the ever-growing demands of AI-based applications.
ADDITIONALLY, INNOVATIVE COOLING SOLUTIONS
One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of liquid cooling systems, an essential technology for large-scale data centers (hyperscale). With increasingly dense configurations and soaring computing power needs, cooling becomes a critical factor for hardware performance and durability. In essence, HPE is innovating with a system that incorporates a specially designed liquid distribution circuit to efficiently cool GPUs, CPUs, and fused memory. This system comes in two variants: one with internal liquid cooling, ideal for compact setups, and another with an external loop, suited for larger installations. This approach ensures optimal temperatures are maintained.
WHY ARE THESE ADVANCEMENTS SO IMPORTANT?
The rapid rise of AI and high-performance computing applications is pushing current technological infrastructures to their limits. At the same time, traditional cooling systems (air cooling) are struggling to manage the heat generated by processors. With its liquid cooling solutions, HPE can now deliver infrastructures ready to handle the most demanding workloads.
ACCI AND HPE: SHAPING THE NEAR FUTURE TOGETHER
Artificial intelligence is not a passing trend. It’s an opportunity for growth across all industries. This is why ACCI and HPE are working hand in hand to offer the most efficient solutions to businesses in Quebec and beyond.

*Today, GPUs are no longer solely used for graphics processing. They have become essential in fields such as artificial intelligence, scientific computing, deep learning, simulations, and big data analysis, thanks to their ability to execute intensive calculations at high speeds. Companies like Nvidia, Intel, and AMD produce GPUs capable of handling these complex types of workloads.
**HPE’s HPC (High-Performance Computing) line includes all HPE products dedicated to high-performance computing. This line includes Cray supercomputers.
See you soon,
